Eagle Time
It was a beautiful day at Conowingo Dam. I wish these photos were better... I guess it means I'll have to go back next week.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
Today I made my first visit to Bartram's Gardens in Philadelphia to look for the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher that's been spotted there. I got some really nice looks at this beautiful bird but unfortunately I didn't get any good in-flight photos. But still, it's not often I go out to look for a specific bird and actually find it!

Ring-billed Gulls
I suspect these guys are responsible for the whitewash the boardwalk got during the shutdown. I'm working with complex patterning in the studio and have even started a painting of an immature gull. That was last week. This week these gulls are all pretty well on their way to their adult, winter coloring. But it's still fun to photograph them.

Our hardworking marching band finished off their record setting season with some seriously gusty winds!

Whooper Swan
The Whooper Swans at the Bronx Zoo were putting on quite a show, flapping their wings, slapping the water, and preening. I'm sure I could have spent all day watching them if there hadn't been so many other great animals to see.

Bronx Fall
My first visit to the Bronx Zoo occurred on a perfect fall day. The weather was beautiful and the trees, as you can see, were at their peak.

More From Hawk Mountain
My trip to Hawk Mountain last week was a lot of fun. I did not get a picture of a single Hawk but I did see lots of other beautiful things.

Beautiful Fall
It has been a very beautiful fall this year. I've not taken as many photos as I would like but certainly more than I need. I'm beginning to hoard my time with so much to do in so little, and anyway the trees are easily admired as I drive from this place or that. But today as I waited for the dog to do what dogs do I was overwhelmed by the idea that people would want to visit here to see these trees and I am so lucky to see them while doing chores.
