Busy Days

We've been having a busy couple of days.  Pretty much non-stop this weekend.

Sunshine on Snow

I emerged into a glittering winter wonderland this morning.  So beautiful on the trees.  Not so great on the roads.  I slid through a stop sign on the way to the studio.  I'm sure to a passerby it appeared as if I didn't bother to break, which I was trying my hardest to do.

A Bit More

These photos were taken about 6 hours after my previous post.  I'm back inside and back to my book.

Snow Day

I'm looking forward to spending today curled up with a book.  Seems like a good day to get some reading done with a few breaks to walk in the snow.

Wintery Mix

We've had an awful lot of "wintery mix" lately.  The opening and talk that was supposed to happen at the University of Delaware has been canceled, a new date should be organized soon.  I'm sorry to miss tonight's events I'm not sorry to skip driving through snow, slush, ice, or whatever tonight's "wintery mix" looks like.

Reconstructed at the University of Delaware

Despite the snow and ice that dogged my efforts I got my show up and ready to go.  Thanks to Matt, Olivia, and Morgan who all helped with the installation and to Alden who helped with the construction.  And a big thanks to Erin and the Arrowmont Pentaculumn where I figured out how to put this all together.

Rough Walking

Yesterday's walk was beautiful but treacherous.  Pretty much every foot print made in the last five days was frozen in shape turning a normally easy flat walk into a challenging, slippery path.

Weekend

After quite a few weeks of top notch productivity my studio work hit a few snags this week.  They were as follows: Holiday, Snow Day, Work Day, Sick Day.  Friday I dragged my still sick self to the studio to meet Alden, my fabulous assistant, and actually got some things done.  Today I had my Sketchbook class and Olivia and Matt had her all day Temple tour.  I caught up with them in time to see the dorm and drive home in the snow.  A pretty serious snow storm is raging.  Sadly, it's supposed to turn to rain by morning.

Eating Snow

I'm happy to report that last night's promised snow actually arrived.  First time all winter that's happened.  Not sure it was enough to justify canceling school but there you go.  This female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was in the same location as the previous male.  She was also very much enjoying the snow.
