Fall Birds

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a walk.  It was, reportedly, not a good day for seeing migrants.  I personally still can't do the math on that one but if you think like a bird it basically amounts to: good flying keep on going, bad flying drop down and hang out for a while.  So we weren't expecting too much but I had some good sitings nonetheless.  The top two are Northern Parulas, the third is TBA, and the last is a juvenile male Common Yellowthroat.

Update: The third one is a Palm Warbler

Warbler Roundup

Prairie Warbler at Cape May Point State Park

Northern Parula at Cape May Point State Park
Magnolia Warbler at Cape May Point State Park
Black-throated Green Warbler at Cape May Point State Park
Yellow-breasted Chat at Cape May Point State Park
Common Yellowthroat at Cape May Point State Park
Blackpoll Warbler at Heinz National Wildlife Refuge
American Redstart at Heinz National Wildlife Refuge
Bay-breasted Warbler at Heinz National Wildlife Refuge
Ovenbird at Belleplain State Forrest
These are most of the warblers I saw this week.  I have a few unidentified photos so perhaps I'll add another but they might also be vireos so I'll just wait for the experts to weigh in.

More Spring

Yellow Warbler

Black-throated Blue Warbler

Ovenbird

Warbling Vireo

Common Yellowthroat

For a second day in a row Olivia and I got up early to do some birding.  I made some adjustments to my camera and improved today's photos.  Yesterday I had multiple photos where even the trees were blurry.  I was actually reprimanding myself out loud while I looked at them.  There is no excuse, after all, for the stationary objects in a photo not to be in focus.
