Catching Up: First of All, Prom
I took several hundred prom pictures. It's hard to pick a few but here are a couple of my favorites.

Flashback
Somehow I never posted photos from Freshman year's Indoor Guard show an error which obviously must be corrected. This seems a good time, just before the final Senior show. I'm going to miss these High School years.

Penultimate Competition
At yesterday's competition I was much higher up and farther away than usual. The next competition is Olivia's last. Although I think some of the kids are working on one final show for a talent competition at school. But these High School days are winding down. Sob. I'm sure I'll be fine...

Senior
Olivia and I took advantage of today's "blizzard" which here means the 6" to 12" that tuned out to be an inch...barely. So disappointing. Anyway, we went to Longwood Gardens to shoot some possible Senior Picture shots. This is my favorite. I learned a bit about aspect ratio and how important it is to pay attention to it when you are shooting photos meant to be printed at 8"x10". Sigh.

Champs
This year has been so incredibly busy. I think our activities are winding down, giving way to free time and relaxation, hopefully. Here are images from Indoor Champs. They came in 3rd place this year, a lovely end to a great season.

Snow
We are having our second snowfall of the season. No photos from the first storm as I was stuck at work and with my 2 hour (normally 15min) drive home I didn't get home until after dark. But today I'm back in my happy place, wandering around taking photos of the snow.

Fields of Flowers
These images are from Chanticleer's beautiful wildflower garden on a swelteringly hot day before the daily thunderstorm. I've just been invited to do a solo show in September. Time to kick the studio efforts in to high gear. I have a few pieces I've been puttering with for a while. Hopefully I can pull them together and finish them in the next two months!

Detail
This is the shot Olivia was taking in my last post. Looks like she's going to be ready for the Costa Rica trip! I miss that "flower" button that the Sony has for taking up close shots but I'm glad to see Olivia taking advantage of it. I love this image!

All Dressed Up
Olivia was all dressed up for the Band Banquet yesterday. She was very excited to be selected one of the color guard co-captains and even came home with a trophy for "most improved trombone."

Black Light
You saw some photos of the boat in the shop but here it is on stage after a few modifications. They added black light paint. During this scene they rushed the boat back and forth across the stage making several quick turns. It was pretty cool to watch but hard to photograph. And you can see that the pit is not below the stage. They had several other special effects, particularly in the second half, that made the musical a whole lot of fun!
