Flashback

Somehow I never posted photos from Freshman year's Indoor Guard show an error which obviously must be corrected.  This seems a good time, just before the final Senior show.  I'm going to miss these High School years.

Penultimate Competition

At yesterday's competition I was much higher up and farther away than usual.  The next competition is Olivia's last.  Although I think some of the kids are working on one final show for a talent competition at school.  But these High School days are winding down.  Sob.  I'm sure I'll be fine...

We've been having a busy couple of days.  Pretty much non-stop this weekend. 

Indoor Season Begins

It was very exciting to see our Marple Newtown High School Marching Band take first place in Sunday's Championship Competition.  Four years of hard work paid off with a big win.  A little bitter sweet as it marks the end of Marching Band for our Senior.

Haunted

Wow!

The show just keeps getting more dramatic and more exciting.  I may have to go next Friday without my camera so I can really watch the show.  The viewfinder limits how I see the shows. 

Good Show

It's going to be a great season.  First of all, the show is going to be good to photograph, obviously my top priority.  Secondly, this is my second viewing and already many great things have been added.  I look forward to seeing the show unfold this fall.

Band Season

Band Season is upon us again.  It looks like Senior year is going to be a great show.  I have high hopes for getting some good shots.  The Freshman year show was good to photograph but Sophomore and Junior year the shows were very spread out and it was hard to get more than a couple people in each shot.  Doesn't look like it will be a problem this year.

This year has been so incredibly busy.  I think our activities are winding down, giving way to free time and relaxation, hopefully.  Here are images from Indoor Champs.  They came in 3rd place this year, a lovely end to a great season.

Our hardworking marching band finished off their record setting season with some seriously gusty winds!

Blue Flags

I can't remember the last time I was so overwhelmed with things to do.  But then it is rapidly closing in on birthday and holiday time.  Despite the rapid pace I am, more or less, managing to accomplish most of my tasks.  I arrived, after a frantic drive from Aston to Springfield blocked at every turn by lollygaggers, just in time to see the show.

Marching Moments

Photographing a marching band show is tricky.  I usually employ the more or less indiscriminate fire-away technique.  Sometimes quirky, funny, surprising, or beautiful images result. 

More Signs of Fall

Thanks to my newish job this is the first time I've seen this year's marching band performance.  It was a spectacular performance.  This show is going to be a lot of fun to photograph.
