Irruption

For my 43rd birthday I finally got my close up photo of a Snowy Owl.  Olivia worked hard all day to make it happen.  It was so nice to come home from work to a lovely dinner and a beautiful cake!

Before and After

Olivia wanted a throwback princess party for her 17th birthday.  If you look closely in the second photo you'll see the dolls hand got scorched.  Matt's calling her "burn unity barbie" even though she's not actually a barbie...

Birthday Flowers

I was supposed to go with some friends to Conowingo Dam this morning.  Unfortunately Olivia is home sick so instead I'm cleaning up Christmas and working on the computer.  Matt rearranged the house for my birthday party so that it's now possible to enjoy the beautiful flowers my friend brought.  Generally I hate it when Matt moves the furniture around but this time I think I like it.  I still, however, maintain that one should NOT drag a fully decorated Christmas Tree from one end of the house to the other.

Birthday Time

Happy Birthday to everyone but me... a lone Capricorn with the Scorpios

Trying to figure out how to blow out the candles permanently.

They just keep coming back for more.  Filled the whole house with smoke before they went out.

November1st is birthday time around our house.  When Matt asked what I was getting him for his birthday 15 years ago I pointed at my rather pregnant belly and said "this."  And then I delivered...

Fun fact: Many Scorpios were conceived on Valentine's Day.

Contact Sports

Every year around birthday time I get myself in over my head. Cupcakes do it to me every time-way too much work. These, in case you can't tell, are magnifying glasses. It was a murder mystery party. The kit only came with 6 characters so I had to invent 8 more. (Yes we were crazy enough to invite fourteen 12 year old girls to our rather small apartment.) While I was at it (and since I had to retype all of the books anyway) I changed all of the characters to female (except the dead guy) and eliminated as much of the adultery as possible (so as to offend as few parents as possible). That was a lot of work. The perfectionist in me really wanted to make the little books perfect but time ran out. In fact I finished these cup cakes only 5 min before the guests arrived. But every year I learn something new.

Who knew make-up was a contact sport?
