Manassas National Battlefied Park

My dad and I took an unseasonably warm walk around the stone bridge trail at Manassas National Battlefield Park this morning.  The mile long trail passes through at least four different types of terrain.  It was a beautiful walk.  Near the vernal pools (boardwalk photo) the frogs were making an incredible amount of noise.  We could hear but not see the frogs and though they were hard to hear over the frogs we did see a number of birds in that area.  Most excitingly for me my dad found a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker on a tree right in front of us.  You can see in the fourth photo how well camouflaged he was against the tree bark.
